Earthquake jolts Occidental Mindoro, other parts of S. Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — Occidental Mindoro was jolted by a 4.9-magnitude quake on Friday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake was recorded at 1:12 p.m. and located at 22 kilometers southwest of Paluan, Occidental Mindoro, Phivolcs said in its latest bulletin.
An Intensity III was felt over Palauan, Looc, Lubang towns in Occidental Mindoro while an Intensity II was registered over Metro Manila cities Manila, Malabon, and Pasig.
Quezon City also registered an Intensity I.
It was measured at Instrumental Intensity II in Calatagan, Batangas and Tagaytay City, and Instrumental Intensity I in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.
The tectonic quake had a depth of 9 km, Phivolcs said.
