QC tracing Willie Revillame fans for testing

/ 05:12 AM January 29, 2021

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government will track down and test for COVID-19 hundreds of fans who gathered in front of Wil Tower on Wednesday in the hopes that TV host Willie Revillame, who recently celebrated his 60th birthday, would give them money.

Photos showed that some fans ignored physical distancing while waiting in the area until early Thursday, although Revillame did not say he would give away money, as he did during his previous birthdays.

Mayor Joy Belmonte said that Revillame’s staff had been asked to provide the city government a list of people who could have been in the crowd. —Nikka G. Valenzuela
