MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives will investigate the spike in the prices of food products, Quezon Rep. Mark Enverga said, adding that the probe will start on Feb. 2. Agriculture Secretary William Dar and officials from the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Philippine Statistics Authority are expected to participate in the deliberations of the House committee on agriculture. The Department of Agriculture has proposed a freeze on prices due to the spike in prices of pork and poultry products. —NESTOR CORRALES
