Samar town councilor slain
TACLOBAN CITY –– A councilor of Pinabacdao town in Samar was shot dead by still unidentified assailants aboard a sports utility vehicle on Monday morning.
Samuel Lagario, 50, was driving a motorcycle along the national highway of Barangay Laygayon, Pinabacdao town in Samar, when he was shot at past 8 a.m.
Police Lt. Larry Sersosa, town police chief, said investigators had yet to identify the perpetrators and the motive behind the killing.
Lagario was on his first term as councilor of Pinabacdao, more than 60 kilometers away from Tacloban City.
