SAN ANTONIO, Zambales –– Two more persons in a naval station here tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Sunday, raising the number of active cases there to 36.
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the new patients inside the Naval Education, Training and Doctrine Command (NETDC) were a 31-year old student and a 24-year-old daughter of an infected resident.
The outbreak was initially traced to three students who tested positive for the virus from Jan. 13 to 15.
In Palauig town, three more workers – an engineer, an accounting staff, and a dispatcher- at a solar farm have also tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.
Bueno said the virus outbreak at the solar farm began after three of its workers contracted the virus last week.
The province now has 56 active cases. A total of 814 infections were listed since the pandemic started, 740 of whom have recovered while 17 have died. INQ
