Parañaque City to ban single-use plastics

/ 04:35 AM January 20, 2021

Parañaque City will finally implement its ordinance banning single-use plastics. City Ordinance No. 18-40, passed in 2018, will be enforced starting this month. “Strict implementation will be enforced this June 2021,” the City Environment and Natural Resources Office said. Inspectors, however, will start visiting different establishments this month—which is Zero Waste Month. Violators will pay a P5,000 fine for first and second offenses, and cancellation of business permit for third offense. —Dexter Cabalza
