Quezon COVID-19 death toll now at 209
LUCENA CITY –– At least four more coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients have died in Quezon province, bringing the death toll to 209, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) said in its 10 a.m. report on Jan. 19.
Mauban town recorded two COVID-19 fatalities while the municipality of Lucban and this city logged one death each, the IPHO disclosed.
At least 22 of the fatalities were recorded into the new year.
Lucena City, the provincial capital, had the highest number of fatalities, with 50.
Still, under the modified general community quarantine, Quezon logged 6,662 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic erupted in early March last year.
The IPHO recorded total recoveries of 6,067. The province has 386 remaining active virus carriers.
Article continues after this advertisementAt least 15 of the 41 municipalities in Quezon province no longer have any active COVID-19 cases. Those previously infected in the localities have either recovered or died, the report shows.
