MANILA, Philippines — The coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has infected 2,058 more people in the Philippines, increasing the total caseload to 498,691.
In its 4 p.m. case bulletin on Saturday, the Department of Health (DOH) said 28,674 or 5.7 percent of the total Covid-19 infections are active cases.
DOH also documented eight new deaths and 406 new survivors. These figures bring the total number of Covid-19 deaths and recoveries to 9,884 and 460,133, respectively.
Meanwhile, the health department said Cavite and Rizal have the highest number of new infections with 96 cases.
This was followed by Leyte with 92 new cases, Quezon City with 85 new cases, and Mountain Province with 84 new infections.
Five laboratories have also failed to submit their Covid-19 records to the health department last Jan. 15, the DOH said.
