MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) would only be open for online transactions as it shifts to alternative work arrangements after seven of their personnel tested positive for coronavirus disease.
The OSG said that it can still accept documents but would only do so through online, specifically through e-mails.
“As of January 15, 2021, seven employees of the Office of the Solicitor General tested positive for Covid-19 through RT-PCR testing. To prevent further transmission, the OSG resolved to physically close its office from January 18-20, 2021,” OSG said.
“During said period, no documents will be personally received by the office. Instead, parties may email efile@osg.gov.ph for documents they intend the OSG to receive during the lockdown. All other documents may be emailed to docket@osg.gov.ph,” it added.
According to OSG, their offices would be closed from January 18 to 20 for disinfection, where only sanitation and disinfection teams would be allowed to enter the premises.
“Only personnel from the sanitation and disinfection team will be allowed in the premises. All other employees will continue to perform their work/functions under alternative work arrangements,” the office noted.
Earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) reset the oral arguments on the disputed Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020, after Solicitor General Jose Calida requested for a reset due to the infection of OSG personnel.
Calida said that among the infected OSG employees is an assistant solicitor general and some staffers who would participate in the oral arguments.
