TUGUEGARAO CITY—Twenty-four wooden boxes with 90 pieces of rocket warheads were found floating on a lagoon in Claveria town, Cagayan province on Thursday (Jan. 15), authorities said.
The rocket warheads were discovered by three fishermen from Barangay Taggat Norte and were turned over to Philippine Coast Guard and Cagayan police.
Brig. Gen. Crizaldo Nieves, Cagayan Valley regional police director, said the rocket warheads had the markings “Made in U.S.A.”
Authorities said they found no traces of explosives in the rocket warheads, adding that these could have been disposed of by a passing foreign ship.
