MANILA, Philippines — Three female minors who were victims of online sexual exploitation were rescued by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation-Anti-Human Trafficking Division (NBI-AHTRAD) in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

NBI officer-in-charge Eric Distor said Tuesday that the initial intelligence report they received showed that an alleged Filipina had communicated with a man based in the United States and sent him through Facebook the “child porn materials” of her daughter and two other minors in exchange for money in 2018 and in the early months of 2019.

The woman also received money transfers amounting USD 2,680 (around P128,000) from the American citizen between April to August 2019, according to Distor.

He said the case was referred by the Federal Bureau of Investigation which was originally forwarded to the Philippine Internet Crimes Against Children Center and later assigned to the NBI-AHTRAD for investigation.

Agents of the NBI-AHTRAD later identified the woman and conducted a surveillance operation around her residence. They then discovered that one of the victims is her daughter.

NBI operatives then communicated with the principal of the school where the two other victims were studying to locate them. The school, in turn, provided information on the address of their residence and the names of their guardians.

On January 8, NBI operatives together with officers of the Philippine National Police – Women and Children Protection Center and Dasmariñas City Social Welfare and Development Office conducted a rescue operation in the residence of the victims which resulted in the rescue of the three minors.

The three minors were then turned over to a shelter in Rizal.

It wasn’t immediately clear where the female suspect was brought by the NBI.
