CEBU CITY – More health workers at Cebu’s biggest government hospital have tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
From 18 infections last week, the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) has recorded 15 new COVID-19 cases involving its staff members, according to Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, spokesperson of the Department of Health in Central Visayas.
The infections have prompted the hospital to close their Operation Rooms Complex for disinfection.
Loreche said 23 of the infected staff members were asymptomatic while 10 exhibited mild symptoms of the coronavirus.
