Leyte village chair nabbed in drug buy-bust
TACLOBAN CITY –– A barangay chairman, who is an alleged member of the drug ring operated by a confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa, was arrested by policemen in a buy-bust operation in Leyte last Monday.
Marcial Lacabe, 49, who did not resist arrest, was considered a “high-value target” by authorities. Seized during the operation were nine heat-sealed transparent sachets of shabu.
The suspect was detained at the municipal detention facility and was charged for illegal possession and selling of the illegal drugs, a non-bailable offense.
