Las Piñas LGU sets aside P200 million for COVID-19 vaccines
MANILA, Philippines — The Las Piñas City government has allocated P200 million for the purchase of anti-COVID vaccines for its residents.
“Nais kong tiyakin na ang inilaang pondo ng ating lokal na pamahalaan ay magagamit sa agarang pagbili ng kakailanganing bakuna kapag available na ito sa merkado,” Las Pinãs City Mayor Mel Aguilar said in a statement on Wednesday.
(I would like to assure that the funds set aside by the local government will be used for the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines once it is available in the market.)
Aguilar said that it would offer COVID-19 vaccines for free to its frontliners, including medical and health care workers, government employees, police personnel, senior citizens, and indigent residents.
“Tuluy-tuloy pa rin ang isinasagawang COVID-19 response efforts ng ating lokal na pamahalaan sa pakikipagtulungan ng ating City Health Office upang tugunan at labanan ang pagkalat ng sakit,” she said.
