ILIGAN CITY—A 35-year-old male nurse was found dead on Monday (Jan. 4) inside a room at a lodging house in Valencia City, Bukidnon province.
According to Lt. Col. Cipriano Bazar, chief of Valencia City police, Soriano Pagunsan Moreno bore multiple stab wounds in the body.
Moreno, who hails from Bayog town, Zamboanga del Sur, was identified by Randney Rosal, the landlord of a house he was renting in the city.
Citing the account of the unidentified cashier of the lodging house, Bazar said that Moreno checked in around 7 p.m. on Sunday (Jan. 3) and advised the front desk that two male companions are joining him.
The two unidentified men joined Moreno a few minutes later.
Around 8 a.m. on Monday, the cashier wondered why his guest had not yet checked out and decided to open the room and discovered the victim already dead, soaked in blood.
Police investigators found a bloodied yellow shirt, silver necklace and gold earrings near Moreno’s body.
According to Bazar, Moreno’s motorcycle was no longer in the parking lot of the lodging house.
Before leaving his house, which is just a kilometer from the lodging house where he was found dead, Moreno had mentioned to Rosal the name of a person he will be meeting, said Bazar.
Moreno worked at the Bukidnon Provincial Hospital in Kalilangan town.
