Less than 900 new COVID-19 cases reported; more than 8k patients recover
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines on Sunday documented 891 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, raising the total count of infections to 477,807.
In its case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 20,292 active cases of the virus, which is a significant drop from 27,721 active cases reported on Jan. 2.
Meanwhile, 8,316 more people recovered from the disease. This raised the total sum of COVID-19 survivors to 448,258.

The COVID-19 death toll reached 9,257, with four additional patients who died due to the severe respiratory disease.
