IAS chief to resolve Nuezca admin case within 30 days
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Internal Affairs Service (PNP-IAS) said Tuesday that it will rush its probe to resolve the administrative case against Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca, who has been charged for the brutal murder of a mother and her son in Tarlac.
“Yes sir, kaya nga mamadaliin natin nang matapos iyong kaso. Kung tumagal lugi, aggrieved na po ang biktima, kasi justice delayed, justice denied. Lugi din yung gobyerno kasi siya ay sumasahod dahil may roon sa batas na presumption of innocence unless proven guilty,” said IAS chief Alfegar Triambulo in an interview with ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo when asked if Nuezca is still receiving salary from PNP.
(Yes sir, that’s why we are rushing to immediately resolve the case because if we prolong it, the victim is already aggrieved, justice delayed is justice denied. The government will lose too because Nuezca is still receiving his pay because under the law there is presumption of innocence until proven guilty.)
Triambulo said the investigation started as early as Sunday, Dec. 20, when Nuezca shot dead his neighbors Sonya Gregorio and Frank Gregorio over an altercation about firing of “boga,” a kind of noisemaker, among others.
IAS has 90 days to finish its investigation on Nuezca’s administrative complaint, but Triambulo hoped to conclude the probe within 30 days .
“Meron kami under sa rules na 90 days sa kaso. May program na nakuha namin ng 40 days so ngayon subukan namin gawing 30 days ‘yan [Nuezca’s case] para personal mamonitor ang kaso,” Triambulo said.

“‘Iyong video malaking punto kasi hindi po ‘yan nagsisinungaling kasi iyong picture o video clips speak of a thousand words. The video speaks for itself. Iyon ang kasalanan ng ating pulis. Besides, umamin naman siya [Nuezca],” IAS chief said.
(The video is a big point because it does not lie as pictures or video clips speak of a thousand words. The video speaks for itself. That is his fault. Besides, he already confessed to the crime.)
Nuezca is already facing two counts of murder before the Regional Trial Court Branch 67 in Paniqui, Tarlac over the killings.
