PH logs 461,505 COVID cases; death toll nears 9K
MANILA, Philippines — Philippines on Monday logged 1,721 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections, raising the total sum of cases to 461,505.
In its 4 p.m. case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) documented 23,341 active cases, which is 5.1 percent of the country’s total COVID-19 caseload.
Meanwhile, 10 more people died of severe respiratory disease, increasing the country’s COVID-19 death toll to 8,957.
Also, 82 more individuals recovered from the coronavirus disease, bringing the total tally of COVID-19 survivors to 429,207.
Davao City topped the list of cities and municipalities with the highest number of new coronavirus disease cases. The city logged 151 new infections this Monday.
This was followed by Quezon City with 142 new COVID-19 cases, Rizal with 85, Laguna with 81 and Manila with 77. [ac]
