Cop gunned down in Ormoc City, Leyte
TACLOBAN CITY — A policeman was shot dead by a still unidentified assailant in Ormoc City, Leyte on Saturday night.
Based on the information from the regional headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) based in Palo town in Leyte, Police Corporal Ruffy Pepito, 38, was shot while he was buying ice cream at a “sari-sari” or variety store at around 8:40 p.m.
According to witnesses. the lone gunman, who wore a camouflage uniform, escaped through a sports utility vehicle.
The local police have yet to identify the gunman and the motive behind the killing.
