“Wearing a face shield obstructs view and makes breathing difficult. Meanwhile, biking naturally isolates riders from other commuters,” the post read.

The Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) previously decided that the public is now required to wear both a face mask and face shield at all times when outside of their homes as a precautionary measure against COVID-19.

The IATF has then directed the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Labor and Employment, and other national government agencies to issue a consolidated advisory to the public on the proper use of face shields when leaving their residences.https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1373463/guidelines-on-face-shields-out-soon

The DOH, meanwhile, said it may consider to exempt solo cyclists from wearing face shields.
