Manila eyeing more raps vs health protocol violators at cemetery bash
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno on Tuesday said the city is eyeing more serious complaints against the over 20 individuals arrested for binge drinking during a baptismal party at the Manila North Cemetery recently.
“Sinampahan sila ng kaso, they are going to be penalized. This is a violation of the ordinance and if and if, makita namin, like for example, ang viniolate naman nila IATF [Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases] rules, eh di ma-violate yung RA or existing Republic Acts. That’s a different matter so i-cha-charge namin sila on a bigger, possible penalty,” Moreno said in an interview on CNN Philippines.
(Formal complaints have been filed against them. If we see that they violated IATF rules then they will violate certain Republic Acts. They could be charged for more offenses with possibly heavier penalties.)
Moreno likewise reminded his constituents to follow city ordinances or they will he held liable.
“Ako nananawagan, huwag na natin subukin ang pamahalaan kasi we must really participate and obey with the rules and regulation with regard to taking care of our health,” said Moreno.

“One thing is for sure, we cannot stop them from doing violation, criminal activities. Iyan ang katotohanan ng buhay (That’s the truth). If you do it [violations], we will make you liable,” Moreno warned.
