Tuesday weather forecast: Isolated rain showers, partly cloudy skies

MANILA, Philippines — Scattered rain showers are expected in most parts pf the country on Tuesday due to the  tail-end of a frontal system, northeast monsoon and easterlies,  according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza said the tail-end of a frontal system, or a weather system that forms due to the interaction of the cold northeast monsoon and warm easterly winds, is affecting the eastern section of northern Luzon, while the northeast monsoon is affecting the rest of the region.

Meanwhile, the easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, are affecting the weather in the rest of the country.

“Ang mga nasabing weather system ay patuloy pa rin nagdadala ng pag-ulan sa ilang bahagi ng ating bansa,” Mendoza said in a weather forecast issued by Pagasa at 4 a.m.

(The said weather systems continue to bring rains to some parts of the country.)

Specifically, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring cloudy skies with light rains to Batanes and Babuyan Islands, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains to the Ilocos region.

On the other hand, the tail-end of a frontal system will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley and Aurora.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Metro Manila: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius

Baguio City: 16 to 24 degrees Celsius

Laoag City:  24 to 31 degrees Celsius

Tuguegarao City: 23 to 27 degrees Celsius

Legazpi City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius

Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius

Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius

Iloilo City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius

Cebu City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius

Tacloban City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius

Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
