Alleged drug pusher in Quezon slain in buy-bust
LUCENA CITY –– A suspected drug pusher was killed after he allegedly resisted arrest in this city on Thursday night, police said.
Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police chief, said in a report that an anti-illegal drugs operative was about to collar Wilson Tan after he sold a pack of shabu (crystal meth) to a police agent in a transaction at 10:50 p.m. in Barangay Talao-Talao.
The police said Tan sensed that he was dealing with undercover police and reportedly pulled a caliber .45 pistol from his sling bag and shot the policeman, but missed his target. A back-up policeman returned fire and killed the suspect on the spot.
The cohort of the suspect managed to escape aboard a motorcycle.
Police recovered the loaded gun and an extra magazine with six more bullets; shabu in a plastic sachet weighing five grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P34,000; a digital weighing scale, and a mobile phone.
