Body of missing girl in Subic found on her 15th birthday
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—A two-week search for a missing teenage girl led to a grim discovery when her body was found on her birthday.
Capt. Rolando Ballon, chief of the Subic police, said in an interview with a radio station that the body of Joyce Ann Aranego was found in a forested area at the village of Calapandayan on Wednesday (Dec. 9) around 8:30 p.m.
She would have turned 15 that day.
Ballon said a resident found the decomposing naked body of Arañego whose attention was drawn by stench in the area.
Police are in search of leads in the case.
Investigators said they were also trying to determine if the victim was sexually molested before she was killed. The cause of death has not been released.
