18 construction workers in Zambales positive for COVID-19 after getting job in Rizal
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Eighteen more construction workers who returned home from Antipolo, Rizal have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Saturday, raising the total cases to 679 in the province since the pandemic began.
The construction workers were all residents of Barangay Taugtog in Botolan town, according to Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director.
Bueno said the patients, aged 25 to 50, did not show symptoms of the disease and could have been infected at work. They went home on Nov. 27.
Four of their co-workers at a construction firm in Antipolo have earlier been tested positive for COVID-19.
Bueno said he already coordinated with the provincial health office in Rizal for the contact tracing at the construction site.
