Quezon police going all out to solve killing of former Pagbilao mayor
LUCENA CITY – The Quezon provincial police force is continuing its investigation and pursuit of the suspects and perpetrators behind the fatal shooting of former Pagbilao mayor Romeo Portes, who died more than a week after he was shot.
Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon provincial police chief, said follow-up investigations are being carried out by the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG)-Portes.
“Several witnesses executed their affidavits voluntarily to help shed light and solve the crime,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
Madrideo declared that the entire Quezon police force “will strive through its available resources to identify the suspects and put them behind bars”.
Portes passed away on Dec. 3 in a private hospital in Taguig City where he was brought after he was shot by a motorcycle-riding gunman last Nov. 24.
The Portes family had offered a P500,000 bounty to anyone who can provide information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.
