MMDA postpones closure of U-turn slot in Bagong Barrio to 2021

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has postponed the closure of the U-turn slot in EDSA near General Malvar and New Barrio in Caloocan City.

In an advisory on Thursday, MMDA moved the closure to January 4, 2021.

The U-turn slot was originally scheduled for closure on December 7.

The closure of the U-turn slots is aimed at speeding up travel time for the EDSA busway project of the Department of Transportation.

The project designates the innermost lane of EDSA as an exclusive lane for public utility buses traveling along the national highway, from Monumento in Caloocan to SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

It was in September when U-turn slots along EDSA started to gradually close. —Miggy Dumlao, Trainee
