PH records 1,061 new COVID-19 cases, total count now at 435,413 cases
MANILA, Philippines — The total number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines hit 435,413 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,061 new infections on Thursday.
This increase brought the number of patients with active coronavirus cases to 27,642, according to the DOH case bulletin.
Of which, 85.2% have mild symptoms, 6.9% are asymptomatic, 2.6% experience severe symptoms, and 5% are in critical condition.
The bulk of the new COVID-19 cases came from Davao City with 92 cases, followed by Quezon City (92), Rizal (50), Pampanga (44), and Quezon (43).
There are 328 new recoveries reported, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 399,325.
Article continues after this advertisementHowever, 10 deaths were recorded, bringing the death toll to 8,446.
Article continues after this advertisementThe DOH also noted that five duplicate cases were removed from the total case count, which were recovered cases.
Moreover, three cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
