A delivery driver risked his life to rescue an elderly man who was stuck inside a burning home in Florida, USA.

Sean Campbell, 23, immediately dropped his packages and rushed to the house when he heard the man’s cries for help on Nov. 27.

“I heard the screaming and when you hear something like that you have to go to it,” he told NBC-affiliate WESH on Nov. 30.

Campbell learned that as the flames spread, an elderly woman managed to escape with the help of a neighbor. However, her husband got stuck inside the house.

The driver then ripped open the front door to reach the man who was standing in the kitchen with his walker.

“I don’t think he really knew what was going on,” the delivery man said in the report. “I was like ‘Sir, c’mon. I need to help you. C’mon, let’s get out.’”

“He was trying to grab his walker. I was like no, we got to move,” Campbell added.

Despite the elderly man being unable to move quickly, Campbell eventually helped him exit the house safely. Meanwhile, firefighters managed to rescue their family dog.

Following the incident, the couple’s son, Tim West, hailed Campbell as a hero. West was not at home when the fire broke out.

“It was fantastic. He was both here and able to go inside and brave enough to go inside. We really appreciate that,” West said.

The family is currently staying with a nearby relative after the flames ravaged their home. According to the report, the fire began in the house’s garage and quickly spread to other areas. Ryan Arcadio /ra
