Quezon province logs 1,612 COVID-19 cases in November

LUCENA CITY –– Quezon province recorded 1,612 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases during November, authorities reported.

The tally is slightly lower than October with 1,717 cases, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) said in a bulletin issued at 5 p.m. on Nov. 30.

In August, the recorded COVID-19 cases in the province were 703, while September logged 874 cases.

Quezon, which remains under modified general community quarantine, has recorded a total of 5,349 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic erupted in early March.

The COVID-19 death toll in Quezon rose to 161, and at least 53 of them died last month. Another 42 of the total fatalities in the province were also recorded during October.

The province still has 760 active virus carriers in different medical facilities and isolation centers.

The province recorded 4,428 recoveries.

Lucena, the capital city of the province, logged 1,240 COVID-19 cases; active virus carriers – 147; recoveries – 1,051 and fatalities – 42, the highest tally among all municipalities in the province.
