TACLOBAN CITY –– Two teenage boys died after their father reportedly burned their house in Catarman town, Northern Samar on Friday.

The victims, aged 16 and 11, were trapped inside their house located in Barangay Dalakit around 4:30 a.m.

A 13-year-old cousin of the two victims managed to get out of the house but suffered injuries, said Captain Russel Calubag, town police chief.

Calubag said the siblings and their cousin were sleeping when the blaze happened.

He said they have yet to determine what prompted the suspect to burn their house.

“The incident is still under investigation,” Calubag said.

The suspect was placed under police custody and was tested to find out if he was using illegal drugs.

His two children were brought to the crime laboratory for autopsy while their 13-year-old nephew was recuperating at a hospital.
