14 new COVID-19 patients, mostly detainees, recorded in Ilocos Norte

DAGUPAN CITY –– Ilocos Norte recorded on Thursday 14 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients, 12 of whom are inmates.

The infected detainees were asymptomatic and contracted the virus from previous cases recorded at the Ilocos Norte Provincial Jail, a report from the provincial government showed.

They were isolated in the jail facility and were being treated.

The other two COVID-19 cases are a 35-year-old woman from Pagudpud town, who returned from abroad, and a 39-year-old female guard from Laoag City.
