The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) lauded on Thursday the arrest and filing of charges against the suspects in the killing of Palawan lawyer Eric Jay Magcamit.

“We appreciate and commend the swift action and all those who helped bring the murderers before the bar of justice,” IBP president Domingo Egon Cayosa said in a statement.

Magcamit, 35, was gunned down on Nov. 17 along National Highway in Barangay Malinao in Narra, Palawan. He was on his way to Quezon town when the two assailants flagged down his Toyota Innova in Narra town.

Cayosa said IBP was also working for similar results in the killing of another lawyer, Joey Luis Wee, who was shot and killed by two unidentified men while walking to his office in Barangay Kasambagan in Cebu City on Nov. 23. —TINA G. SANTOS
