Occupants of 93-1 lots told to verify master list

OCCUPANTS of the province-owned 93-1 lots in barangays Busay, Capitol Site, Camputhaw and Kalunasan were given until tomorrow to validate the census master list posted in their different barangay halls.

The census formed the basis for the socio-economic survey of the 93-1 lot occupants of the Office of the Vice President.

Last Jan. 12 Chito Borromeo, consultant to the vice president on housing presented the survey results to the Capitol.

Borromeo said the census is part of the validation process done by the office of the vice president before a consultation will be done with the barangays.

The Cebu Provincial Board (PB) said it won’t draft a resolution yet to authorizing Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia to enter into negotiations with the Skyview Homeowner’s Association in barangay Busay.

In a text message to Cebu Daily News, Magpale said there was no price set provided to them by the Cebu Provincial Appraisal Committee (CPAC).

The homeowners group met with Governor Garcia to relay their wish to buy lots 3 and 4 in barangay Busay.

Garcia met with the PB to discuss the outcome of the meeting with the homeowners association.

Magpale said the CPAC should set the prices of the lots. Ordinance 93-1 was passed by the PB in 1993 requiring occupants to pay a minimal amount for the province-owned lots.

However, some of the lot occupants did not religiously pay their dues and also put up businesses that the Capitol viewed as a breach of contract. Correspondent Carmel Loise Matus
