Pagasa: Isolated rain showers nationwide due to ‘amihan’, easterlies

MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon will have cloudy skies with a chance of rains due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan”, the state weather bureau said Thursday.

In its 5 a.m. live weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the “amihan” continues to affect Luzon.

“And then yung Visayas at Mindanao, easterlies pa rin po yung prevailing weather system natin kung kaya’t makakaranas pa rin sila ng isolated ng mga pag-ulan especially dyan po sa eastern section ng Visayas at Mindanao,” weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin added in the live weather update.

(The easterlies will continue to affect the Visayas and Mindanao, where  isolated rains, especially on the eastern side can be expected.)

Bulquerin said that the “amihan”will bring cloudy skies with light rains over the Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region.

No low-pressure area is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next three to five days, Bulquerin said.
