It didn’t come from gov’t, says Palace of supposed COVID-19 vaccine of Lacson, Romualdez

Palace: Those already vaccinated for COVID-19 didn’t receive it from gov’t

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang assured that anyone who was already vaccinated against the coronavirus did not receive this from the government.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said this when sought for comment on reports that House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez and Senator Panfilo Lacson already got vaccinated to protect themselves from the coronavirus.

“Gagastusan po natin yung bakuna ng mga mahihirap, ng frontliners natin, ng ating kasundaluhan at ating kapulisan. Eto po yung bibilhin ng gobyerno mismo,” Roque said Monday in an online briefing.

(What we will pay for are the vaccines for the poor, our frontliners, the military and police. These are what the government will buy.)

“Kung meron pong ibang mga tao na nakapagpabakuna na, hindi po yan galing sa gobyerno,” he added.

(If there are other people who were already vaccinated, that did not come from the government.)

Senate President Vicente Sotto III bared over the weekend that Lacson and Romualdez have already been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Lacson neither confirmed nor denied Sotto’s statement, but hinted that the supposed vaccination was only a joke.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health warned that there is no vaccine against the coronavirus has been approved yet.
