Beauty queen Winwyn Marquez tops military course
MANILA, Philippines — Beauty queen and actor Winwyn Marquez topped a military course and has joined the Philippine Marine Corps as a reservist.
Maj. Emery Torre, Marine Corps public affairs office chief, said Teresita Ssen “Winwyn” Marquez graduated on Sunday as the top cadet in this year’s Basic Citizens Military Training at the Naval Reserve Center-National Capital Region.
Marquez, who was crowned the Reina Hispanoamericana in 2017, was represented by her father Joey Marquez in receiving the top award and certificate of completion from Navy chief Vice Adm. Giovanni Bacordo in Sunday’s rites.

Marquez’s current rank is master sergeant.
