Abu Sayyaf subleader slain in Sulu battle
The Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) on Friday said it had killed a suspected Abu Sayyaf subleader in Panamao, Sulu.
WestMinCom chief Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan Jr. said Abu Sayyaf subleader Hatib Munap Binda was killed in a clash with the Marines in Barangay Kawasan.
Another group member, Bensio Barahama, was also killed in a separate clash.
Barahama was the father of Abu Sayyaf leader, Sansibar Bensio. —PATRICIA DENISE M. CHIU
