Bacolod diocese holds campaign to help Luzon typhoon survivors
BACOLOD CITY –– The Diocese of Bacolod is conducting an aggressive drive to help the typhoon survivors in Luzon.
Bacolod Bishop Patricio Buzon said Catholic churches in the diocese have been conducting special collections for two Sundays now to raise funds for the typhoon survivors.
“I’m deeply moved by the prompt and generous response of our people,” he said.
He said people could send donations to the Diocesan Social Action Center or the Office of the Diocesan Treasurer who would, in turn, send the funds to the National Secretariat for Social Action/Caritas Philippines Alay Kapwa account.
The Diocese of Bacolod has initially sent P385,000 to Caritas to assist the typhoon survivors, said Fr. Chris Gonzales, Diocese of Bacolod Social Action Center head.
Donations can also be given through the parishes in the diocese.
