VP camp tells Panelo: No, Robredo did not use gov’t plane in Bicol relief ops

MANILA, Philippines — Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo “should get his facts straight.”

The camp of Vice President Leni Robredo said this on Tuesday as it disputed the claim of the Palace official who said that the opposition leader boarded a government-owned C-130 when she went to the Bicol region to provide relief to those affected by the recent typhoons.

“Secretary Panelo should get his facts straight. VP Leni DID NOT use a government C130 plane when she brought aid to Bicol,” Robredo’s spokesperson Barry Gutierrez said in a statement.

“Nakakalungkot lang, tumutulong si VP Leni sa mga tinamaan ng bagyo at baha, at imbes na suporta, paninira at kasinungalingan ang binabato. Ano ba ang mga ito, lingkod bayan o troll?” he added.

(It’s sad that while VP Leni is helping those affected by typhoons and floods, instead of supporting her, they are throwing criticisms and lies. What are they, public servant or trolls?)

Robredo recently visited Camarines Sur, Albay, and Catanduanes after the onslaught of Super Typhoon “Rolly” and gave relief goods to affected families.

On Tuesday, the Vice President visited Polilio Island in Quezon to distribute aid to typhoon victims.
