PH logs 1,738 new infections; COVID-19 tally now at 409,574
MANILA, Philippines — The country’s total COVID-19 caseload rose to 409,574 after the Department of Health logged 1,738 new infections on Monday.
In its daily case bulletin, the DOH also reported that 45 COVID-19 patients have recovered while seven others have died, bringing the tally of recoveries and deaths to 374,366 and 7,839, respectively.
Of the total caseload, 27,369 are considered active, DOH said.
Davao registered the most number of new infections with 140 cases, followed by Cavite (117), Rizal (89), Laguna (87), and Batangas (79).
DOH said it removed two duplicates from the total case count, which were recovered cases.
Moreover, six cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths. [ac]
