9 HURT IN TRIKE-TRUCK COLLISION
NINE persons were injured when the tricycle they were riding collided with a dump truck in barangay Naalad, Naga City, southern Cebu, last Friday night.
The tricycle driver, Diosdado Litas, 52, of barangay Pangdan, Naga, remained in critical condition at the South General Hospital.
The truck driver, Ronald Golosino, 36, surrendered to the police after the accident.
Police said Litas overtook another vehicle and collided with an oncoming dump truck.
Also wounded were Litas’ passengers identified as Jomar Paradero, 28; Charmaine Paradero, 26; Marites Bacayo, 33; Wiki Reponte, 2; Peter John Palharon, 9; Aileen Palharon, 38; Estrella Bacalso, 52 and Roberto Lapirke, 26./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC

Article continues after this advertisementAN 11-YEAR-OLD boy was arrested for allegedly stabbing his 16-year old neighbor in barangay Looc, Mandaue City.
The boy was turned over to social workers after he was arrested past 3 a.m. last Friday.
Police said the wounded victim was rushed to the Mandaue City Hospital.
Police said the boy confronted the older neighbor about who had thrown stones at his house.
The younger boy went out of the house armed with a kitchen knife.
The boy and the victim grappled for the knife. The boy overpowered his neighbor and stabbed him.

’TIGBAKAY’ IN MAMBALING
POLICE raided an illegal cockfighting match in barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, last Friday.
No one was arrested.
Several fighting cocks were seized.
Police were tipped off about the ongoing “tigbakay” and went to the area, but none of the people there could show a permit for the cockfight, said Chief Insp. Romeo Santander, chief of the City Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City Police Office . /CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
