Duterte to pardon Sinas if new PNP chief found liable

/ 05:04 AM November 15, 2020

President Duterte on Saturday said he would pardon Philippine National Police chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas if he would be found liable for the gathering held on his birthday, for which he is facing a complaint for violating quarantine protocols. Mr. Duterte, in a video message, said Sinas did not commit anything that had “moral implications or malice.” Mr. Duterte said the “mañanita” for Sinas’ birthday, held in May, was not the police general’s fault. “If he’s found liable for it, I would pardon him,” he added. —Leila B.
