THE CEBU EASTERN College Dragons got their campaign in the newly opened Cebu Youth Basketball League ThreeSixty Pharmacy Cup off to a rip-roaring start as they bombed the University of San Jose-Recoletos, 52-41, in the 16-under division A class during the league’s opening at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu old campus along Mango Avenue.
The game was just one of many as Cebu’s premier grassroots basketball league opened shop once more but this time, with a whopping 38 teams that bested last year’s total of 35.
In the 16-under B division, the Palarong Pambansa-bound CVIRAA selection team defeated the Nissi Academy, 57-40.
In the 13-under division AB, Southwestern University bested SHS-AdC B, 46-23 while the University of San Carlos-South B upended St. Paul, 34-18, in division B action. The 10-under class saw USC-South defeat CEC, 19-16 while USC-North edged SHS-AdC, 22-19. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
