Ulysses exits PAR, intensifies into typhoon anew
MANILA, Philippines — Severe Tropical Storm Ulysses (international name: Vamco) re-intensified to a typhoon as it exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau said Friday.
In its 11 a.m. severe weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Ulysses strengthened to a typhoon anew at 8 a.m., and left the PAR at 9:30 a.m.

Ulysses is likely to maintain its strength in the next 12 hours, and is expected to gradually weaken due to increasingly unfavorable conditions caused by the surge of the northeast monsoon, Pagasa added.

The typhoon was last spotted 500 kilometers east of Iba Zambales with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph.
It was moving west-northwest at 10 kph.
