MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday cried “fake news” after a photo of her supposedly having too many security personnel amid the need to rescue people during the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses circulated online.

Robredo, in a tweet on Friday, also urged the public to report the Twitter post claiming she had security personnel during her visit.

The Vice President personally visited families temporarily sheltered at the Kasiglahan Village Elementary School in Rodriguez, Rizal, as low-lying areas in the province were flooded.

Robredo, however, said the photo circulating was from two years ago, during a visit to Agutaya, Northern Palawan.

“FAKE NEWS. Please help report, Robredo said in her tweet. “This picture was taken 2 years ago when I visited Agutaya, Northern Palawan.”

“Naglakad po kami from the boat to the shore kasi hindi na kayang makalapit nung sinakyan namin. Hindi po ito ngayong bagyo,” she explained.

Typhoon Ulysses on Thursday battered most parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila. Floods brought by the typhoon also revived painful memories of Tropical Storm Ondoy all over again.
