3 members of family dead as Cavite warehouse collapses at height of Ulysses
SAN PEDRO CITY—Rescuers on Thursday (Nov. 12) retrieved the bodies of three members of a family who died after a warehouse building collapsed in Dasmarinas City, Cavite at the height of Typhoon Ulysses.
Rep. Elpidio Barzaga (Cavite) said the bodies of the still unnamed couple and their two-year-old son were found under the rubble around 5 p.m., or about 12 hours since a 50-foot concrete facade of a warehouse collapsed.
The factory building, which was still under construction, belonged to Polytechnique Manufacturing Inc. at the village of Langkaan 1, he said.
Barzaga said the family’s next of kin was still being notified of the tragedy..
It was not immediately clear if the husband was among the construction workers on the site.
Earlier, around 10:30 a.m., rescuers found a wounded construction worker, Jomer Blesario, in the debris.

“The ground must not be very strong because of the rain or the structure itself,” Barzaga said. “We’d go back there tomorrow to find out,” he said.
