MANILA, Philippines — Landing and takeoff operations at the Clark International Airport and at the Subic Bay International Airport are currently suspended due to strong winds brought by Typhoon Ulysses, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said.

“Landing and takeoff operations at CLARK and SUBIC are suspended right now because of strong winds,” the DOTr said Thursday in an advisory posted across its social media platforms.

Operations at the Bicol International Airport are now “back to normal,” the department added.

Towers at the airports in Naga and Masbate “sustained no damage” and all personnel are safe, according to the DOTr.

In its latest weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Ulysses has weakened ahead of its exit from the landmass of Luzon island.

Ulysses is expected to emerge over the western seaboard of Zambales within the next hour.

“Slight intensification is likely as the typhoon moves over the West Philippine Sea away from the landmass,” the state weather bureau said.
