Ulysses rampage: Residents trapped in flooded village rescued in CamSur town

LEGAZPI CITY—At least 10 people were rescued from rampaging flood waters at a village in San Jose town, Camarines Sur province on Wednesday at the height of Typhoon Ulysses.

Mayor Marco Chavez posted on his Facebook page a video of the rescue operation in at the village of Boclod showing people clinging to ropes to cross the flood as they were being led to safety by the rescue team of the municipal government.

Earlier, a resident, through a Facebook post, pleaded for help when portion of the village started getting submerged in flood water.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has issued a red rainfall warning  in the provinces of Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Albay, Catanduanes and Sorsogon.

It meant severe flooding and landslide were expected in high-risk areas.
