Pet dog survives stabbing by trespasser, suspect arrested

JASIN, Malaysia — A pet dog of a 37-year-old woman here survived a knife attack by a trespasser who was allegedly angered by the canine’s loud barking.

Jasin OCPD Deputy Supt Mispani Hamdan said the incident happened at 9.30pm on Thursday (Nov 5) at Taman Maju here.

The man, in his late 30, had trespassed into the house of the woman before injuring the dog with a knife.

DSP Mispani said the dog suffered serious injuries but survived.

He said the man also caused a commotion outside a neighbor’s house after injuring the canine.

DSP Mispani said the man has been detained and remanded after a police report was lodged.

He added that the case is being probed under Section 448 and Section 428 of the Penal Code for trespass and for committing mischief against animals.
